Child and Maternal Mental Health
The Child and Maternal Mental Health Team supports mothers (parents) pre- and post-delivery ensuring they are established within their home and their needs are identified and meet. Using a holistic approach, the CMMH Team provides a comprehensive social, emotional and wellbeing screenings, assessments and support to children and their parents, guardians and/or carers experiencing, or at risk of, developing social emotional and wellbeing issues. Our regular programs are tailored to deliver information, promote community awareness on mental health and support parents build their capacity through provision of parenting programs.
At the moment, the Child and Maternal Mental Health Team is running the following programs:
• Weekly Playgroups – happening every Tuesday, alternately in Mackay and in Sarina, from 10am to 11.30am – they are free, and no booking is required.
• Triple P – Positive Parenting Program - By appointment
• Counselling sessions for children and parents/guardians/ carers - By appointment
